Day 40 Nubeena Sunday March 6th 2011

Hello readers,

First off I left out one thing from yesterday. I also performed the perennial task of emptying and drying out the roof bag. What trip would be complete with out this chore. We did have a fair bit of rain however there are a host of new splits in the inner liner coinciding with where the tackle boxes are located. Maybe the straps were too tight. Anyway half a pound of polyurethane sealer later and it might be ready to go again.

On to today. I applied one coat of varnish to the rear deck with a different technique than the first one and it actually looks more even. I was going to apply the second coat after lunch however both units had been occupied and I thought the better of lurking around their back doors so I will do it first thing tomorrow. Susan did housekeeping plus training of another new helpexer before finishing off her painting.

The main issue of the day was consideration of the offer to become the more than just helpexers. We have decided to give it a go. At the very least we will add a skill set that will make us more versatile in the future and earn a few dollars. We are going to spend a few days away from the resort enjoying the countryside probably leaving Tuesday afternoon for 7 days or so. Hopefully the weather will be kind. We have to vacate our room for the school kid party so it's no great hassle since we have to move out anyway. Plus we get out of doing the final clean of the room hehe. Unless we don't settle into this role our idea of doing the census work is on the back burner. However as with all things we never say never.

Cheers Simon
