Day 41 Nubeena Monday 7th March 2011
It's a tough job but somebodies got to do it!
Decks by 2
Hi All,
First up i'll start with what i forgot yesterday. My laptop died, well it wouldn't boot, had a faulty RAM chip which took me a little while to work out. I am not sure if that was the only problem I am currently testing the Solid State Hard Drive.
Anyway moving on Susan started with a short burst of housekeeping before meandering up the road to Helen and Bobs to help out on the farm. On her return she had a spa before serving drinks to the horde of bikies that rolled up around 6. Then it was into the kitchen to help Amel with the shared tea.
I had perfect weather for applying the water based varnish on the deck, cloudy. When the varnish was done the sun came out and the breeze blew, perfect. The second deck looks better than the first as I changed my technique. Water based varnish colour varies with the thickness of the coating so it's a bit of a buggar to get it to look even. I then swung over to "rounding up" some weeds along the roadways and paths before mounting a pegboard in the shipping container and trying to figure out which rechargeable drill batteries and chargers were working. Speaking of chargers my you beaut 20 amp charger wasn't working tonight after I loaned it to the boss yesterday. I took it apart pressed here and there and it came good fortunately.
A good weather day with a northerly breeze. It has now clouded over so i guess it is back to rain for us! One more day of work and we are off for a week or so.
Cheers Simon
