Hi Folks,
We awoke in our dark tent this morning to cloudy skies. The warmest morning here thanks to the clouds trapping the heat.
Once again we breakfasted after the guests had finished their pancakes.
Our job today was to finish the sanding of the deck rails and kitchen benches. This we did although the fat on the kitchen boards kept clogging the paper on the sander.
We left Jess varnishing the kitchen.
We went up the hill a bit with Rob and cleared the track up to the new tent site. It was then back down the hill to finish the new tent site started yesterday.
From then on it was basically a pack up once Raven and Chris had returned from locating one of the two devil cams we didn’t find yesterday.
We said goodbye to the camp and headed down the scenic track that winds up from the road. This is the one that the guests come up. It creates the illusion that the retreat is further from the road than it is. Besides it is a hell of a lot less steep than the quad bike track.
We said our goodbyes and headed off along the teeth loosening logging track. 17km’s later and we were back on the bitumen cruising towards Burnie. That bitumen was a relief, so smooth after the logging track.
From then on it was Burnie North Woolworths for food and then back down here to the Riana Pioneer Park for a minimal dusk set up. We paid for three nights. I did some blogging, had a shower and was to bed well after midnight. The internet was also working albeit a bit slowly so that will be a bonus if we don’t have to drive up the road to communicate our message to the world.
We have a bit of catching up to do in the morning. Setting up the awning, cleaning the fridge, which is a bit smelly after 4 days off with the lid on and an enormous pile of washing. For people who aren’t doing much we are awfully busy at times.
Night folks
Cheers Simon
