Day 411 Black River Tuesday 14th March 2012

Hi folks,
If you have tuned in for another rollicking tale of excitement, look away now.
We had a leisurely pack up this morning. I would like to say it was because we were waiting for the sun to rise above the trees to dry the canvas, which does not happen until after 12. However it was mainly because we felt like being leisurely and completing a few little jobs before we left. The low light of the day was when i hopped up at 730 to investigate animal noises and discovered that the friendly stray camp border collie had decided to pee on the kitchen canvas. Nice.
We eventually left at around 1 and cruised to Burnie. Despite not having a laundromat it is a nice town with a good range of retailers. I was able to buy my rubber shock rings for the swag and get ripped off for a phone patch cable to replace the one that went missing. I paid $27 when i could have got the same one for $15 in another shop. That shop being the electronic/game/hobby/computer shop. I shall be returning to purchase antenna construction bits on our return journey. Susan called into Woolies for some food supplies.
It became apparent that we would not reach our Arthur River destination at a reasonable hour so we have camped at Black River which is on the sea about 15 km from Stanley.
I think it's a bit rich that Parks and Wildlife want $13 a night for 2 people when all you get is a long drop a 100 metres from your camp site. Especially when you look at say Riana which is $8 per night and $1 for 3 minutes in the shower. Which reminds me i paid $2 last night and didn't get hot water. Rather than wait for the caretaker and ask for a miserly $2 refund today  I charged my back up battery from their shelter hut for 3 hours and called it evens!
Tonight is quite mild with a light breeze off the sea and we will swag it once we get away from these computers. Tomorrow on to Arthur River!

Night folks

cheers Simon
