Hi Folks,
We departed Woodford this morning saying our goodbyes to Ron. The only hiccup was some water puddles in the swag from last nights storm that was readily dried by the sun and wind. That will teach us not to zip it up when we go out.
We headed to Brisbane to meet Lynne a friend from our Parsons Bay (Tasmania) days. Her suggested parking spot was excellent since there were 3 consecutive parallel parks which made for easy parking. This was important since Susan was driving. Mind you we did have a bit of trauma actually locating River Street.
Lynne arrived and we strolled along the cliff and down onto the river level walk. The development of the river bank was a revelation. Apparently it all occurred for the expo in 1988 which was after my last walk around the city in 1987. We enjoyed the ambience of the walk and arrived at the Southbank markets where I took the opportunity for a Chinese massage of my neck and shoulders. We scouted around for a lunch stop and settled on
La Via. We had some excellent pizzas although Susan thought they could have been larger.
We strolled back to the river and on to the art gallery. The bank area was being readied for the first night of the Brisbane Festival. We enjoyed coffees at the gallery before returning along the bank to the car. We enjoyed having Lynne show us around and really appreciated the effort. Hopefully we will be able to return the kindness in the future.

It was then down the familiar Gold Coast motorway to Nerang. We arrived after dark and after saying our hellos to Michelle, her mum and the girls i was despatched to secure a takeaway containing rice for us.
After tea we set up the swag and headed to bed. We could probably set the swag up blindfolded we have done it that many times.. The weather continues to be glorious apart from last nights 10 minute hiccup.
cheers
Simon
