Day 94 Gulmarrad Sunday 9th September 2012

Hi folks,
We lounged around this morning not departing Michelle's until 11. We were grateful for for the family hospitality. We travelled southwards over the border and stopped at a very small local food market at Murwillumbah. We purchased some preserved meat, prawns and stuffed olives plus some strawberries from an adjoining stall. We then travelled up the road to Uki where we stopped at picnic area for some delicious nibbles.

After satisfying our hunger we journeyed to Nimbin the hippie capital of Australia. We wandered the streets looking. I can only speak for myself and say I found it rather seedy. Plenty of marijuana floating around the streets along with old clapped out hippies. Still it was worth going to see and it is all part of our heritage/folklore, just not mine. From there we journeyed back to Gulmarrad to Carl's house. We had a short settle in before I travelled back to Maclean to pick up a new helper Rachel who originates from Scotland. She must think i am a right nutter since I managed to miss two turn offs because I was too busy talking.

From there it was a standard setup of the swag for me while Susan cooked the food we picked up in Lismore. The highlight here was seeing the progress made on the straw bale extension. Will have some pictures tomorrow night.

Night folks

Simon
