Day 214 Nubeena Tuesday 30th August 2011
Shells
Plantings
Tasmanian blue gums i think
Hi all,
from the infirmary. This cold can buggar off any time it likes. It has not been a fun day. I had to have a nap this afternoon for a couple of hours.
We had our day off today. Morphine and Fan-fan called in so i could give him the reference i wrote. Apparently his chosen nom de plume is causing some angst among potential hosts so he may revert to his natural name of Yang, Shang-Jung. Shang Jung is pronounced Sun Long as in the rice so most Australians should be able to manage that.
We drove out to Slopen Main this morning for a look and took several back roads as we returned to Shelly Beach a spot we have driven past many times but never visited.
A nice little cove with a small area of sand, lots of rock and piles of shells. Conservation work was in evidence with plenty of fresh plantings.
From there we proceeded to Port Arthur for a latish lunch at the cafe. Scallop pie for me and spicy beef hotpot for Susan. We returned to the resort for coffee and black and gold fruit cake in our unit. After which i lapsed into sleep before having a spa to try and revive me at 8.
We toodled down to the shed to watch the latest Doctor Who on the big screen. Unfortunately the remote control is still missing so I couldn't make it fill the screen a minor annoyance.
Anyway that's it for the day I am feeling a bit better, with thanks to the inventor of Nurofen.
Bye for now.
Simon
