Day 181 Dunoon Wednesday 5th December 2012

Good evening folks,

It is nearly tomorrow. The blog is late tonight as I have been having internet rage, well sort of. Anyway it's fixed now for a while I hope.

The weather is so consistent at the moment I would guess once again it was low 30's today.

The day started with surgeon Susie deftly removing a mid sized tick from my left inner thigh. That will teach me to sit on the lawn in shorts sharpening the chain saw.

Susan continued on the jungle clearance, while I tackled a much simpler area, which she started the other day, until the jack jumper biting incident. The bite looks visually worse, as in darker but is actually a lot better. I avoided the large nest in a large log and finished the area off.

The other item I worked on today was "Ishtar" an old gypsy style caravan constructed in the 70's and used by our hosts as accommodation while they built their house. It currently houses helpers the last one of course being Sara. After some discussion I filled the dilapidated plywood of the roof with a couple of tubes of no more gaps so it could be repainted. It's not overly critical since it will be spending its life under a roof and not exposed to the tropical rain which I am sure is responsible for a lot of its current dilapidation.

We have the technology we can rebuild him

I took a spin to the water tower grass reserve just behind here this afternoon. it provides 360 degree views to the surrounding countryside. I actually wanted to see the basalt and rhyolite layers in the quarry but there wasn't one so I will have to check my information as I obviously wasn't listening properly

Looking east from the reserve over the macadamia regiment.
That's it for today

night folks

Simon
