Day 182 Dunoon Thursday 6th December 2012

Hi Folks,

Another late night. Slightly milder day today and almost a repeat of yesterday. Susan working on the jungle and myself patching and undercoating the roof of "Ishtar"

This blue wren hopping around this morning likes to......

Hop up on the windscreen wipers on the car to....

either look for bugs or check out his reflection.

Today started off with a broken lead used to connect to the solar panel. I have a technique for salvaging the Anderson crimp connectors when this happens by soldering the wire to them. Today's wire was very tarnished and wouldn't wet with solder until I dipped it in hydrochloric acid which cleaned it a treat. Feeling bolstered by this success I then resoldered the LED in my old controller a job made more difficult by the silastic i sealed the board with the other day but in the end another success.

One little island of weeds saved for the moment until the passion fruits in it ripen

A white undercoated roof
The day passed quickly as busy days do. Tonight I put together my voltage /current monitor for the solar system. It looked pretty neat but there is a problem with the current meter not zeroing so I shall be off to Jaycar to chew their ears and hopefully get the module replaced. The two modules also have widely different brightness's which is also annoying. Anyway I will deal with it tomorrow.

Relaxing before dinner
I was called on to catch a very large and fast spider in the house tonight. It sort of looked light a giant huntsman. Caused much consternation to Lazuli.

Anyway that's if off to bed about a minute before midnight.

cheers

Simon
