Hi Folks,
We slept in unintentionally today until 8 due to the fact it was very cloudy. It came to pass that while I was digging holes and Susan was cultivating a new garden bed the heavens opened for a while and we had a good downpour forcing us to shelter for 3/4 of an hour.
After out hosts returned I was set to make some fly screens from the commercial bits sold by Bunnings. This can be a bit tricky if you don't concentrate since you need to have the mitres cut in the right direction with respect to the securing groove else you end up throwing material away. I speak from past experience!
Fortunately this time I made no errors. The only problem was the aluminium wire screen supplied to be fitted instead of the normal plastic. It is quite hard to roll the locking bead in without tearing the aluminium and destroying the roller. Anyway one screen is finished and it doesn't look too bad, even more surprisingly it was millimetre perfect to the required dimension. To be continued tomorrow.
I was working under the veranda when the second rain band arrived. Susan arrived presently well soaked. I decided to check the tent which had a pool of water (about a cup) in one corner. There is a seam at the bottom with a small hole in where all the water from the roof was running over. I noticed it while we were at Inskip but when it didn't leak there was no impetus for me to fix it. I shall fix it in the morning once the sun has baked the canvas in that area.
Other than that not a huge amount that I can report.
I have been checking the viewing rates for the blog and they have been falling steadily. We will try and be more exciting in future.
Night folks
Simon
