We had a night of light drizzle and mercifully low wind. We awoke in reasonably good shape and breakfasted and packed without any drama. The swag was a little damp when we packed it away but nothing we can't live with.

We journeyed up the road to Kingaroy by which time the rain had set in. Susan used 3 washing machines and 2 driers at the laundromat. Total cost $25! Our next host rang us to say the rain was tumbling down, that his property was pretty wet and if we could find somewhere drier we could wait for the rain to clear. We decided to try and find somewhere drier. After travelling around the area we decided to not put the swag out due to the wetness. The rain has stopped but there is a constant warm wet drizzle. We shall sacrifice our bodies and sleep in the car tonight. We did buy some food for tea but cooking in the rain didn't appeal. We had tea in the Grand Hotel at the end of our parking bay at Wooroolin about 20km north of Kingaroy. An excellent cheap meal it was too.
We had an interesting meeting with a truckie in the car park here who was pointing out the best place to park amongst the swampy bits while his wife was hopping from her car into the cab. He said if we were still awake when they returned from Brisbane we were welcome to sleep at their house!
Also set up here are an SA couple who also had tea in the pub. They have a camper trailer around the back. This is their first trip out so it is getting a good work out. Once again small off road caravan thoughts have been crossing our minds but I am sure once the sun shines they will disappear.
Our evenings entertainment will be listening to our Bryce Courtney audio book "Thommo and Hawk".
It is quite warm and muggy so I don't know that we will need our sleeping bags tucked in tonight.
The forecast looks slightly more hopeful for tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Cheers Simon
