Day 153 KinKin Wednesday 7th November 2012

Hi Folks,

We were up reasonably early this morning in time to say goodbye to Jules when she left for work at 730.
After breakfasting we moved the necessities of life from the car to the house. I spent an exciting time sorting out my socks!

We moved on to some HelpX tasks. Susan working in the garden pruning and me fiddling with the irrigation. We pottered away assimilating the layout of the grounds adjacent the house (the whole property is 30 acres) and the location of various equipments.  We had a bacon salad for lunch and watched the live feed of the US elections. One of the bonuses of satellite TV is that you can watch different states TV service. Tonight for instance we watched the Adelaide ABC news. You also have the ability to watch different time zones. i.e if you want to watch something an hour ahead on ABC just select an ABC eastern daylight saving time state. I presume you can go back in time to WA although I would have to check that is indeed true. However one should not let the truth get in the way of a good story.

After lunch satisfied that the irrigation was working I spent some time exploring a little bit further afield and then sharpened the loppers that Susan had been using. Susan in the meantime had moved the tractor from the shed so we could start spreading the hay from the large round bales for mulch. Before you panic over her wrestling with a dangerous piece of machinery I should explain this is Jules’s joke. The tractor is actually an old bulker bag cut open that you load the hay on fold the flap over and drag to where you need it.

After our outside showers Susan worked on her cross stitch while I drove up the hill to the internet cafĂ© to publish last night’s blog. While I was doing this the farmer whose paddock entry I was parked in came shuffling down in his gumboots to establish I was not abducting his animals or dairy. Not that there is any room in the car to fit anything.

Jules returned and cooked a blue cheese risotto for tea which was something new for us. We both had seconds.

Jules has had to work unexpectedly extra hours this week so we will be on our own all day tomorrow. We both have plenty of work to go on with. I can remove some lantana of which there is sufficient to keep 50 people busy for 50 days and Susan has an outdoor table and chairs to sand.

Night folks

Simon
