G'day Folks
A big painting day today, we drew straws I got orange and Simon blue. This translates into I got the lattice to paint and Simon the gutters and posts. I do like orange and I do like painting, but I have remembered that I don't really like lattice, fiddly stuff to paint. The last lattice I painted, at home, I tried the spray gun, it wasn't successful too much waste. Reckon I could make a fortune if I could invent something to make lattice painting easier, ponders.......
By mid afternoon I needed a rest from painting and moved on to more bulk cooking of the Secret Honeycomb Valley Walnut and Date Slice, which can be chewy or cake like depending how long you cook it. It is offered to bus trip visitors who will soon be arriving in droves. The good thing about the recipe is that it can be frozen.
I also cut and edged material for more eco food wraps, and taught Josie the rudiments of machine sewing in the process. There was a bit of excitement with some chirping from the next room, one of the eggs had hatched, looks like a new brood of chicks will be creating chaos in the next few days!
We have decided to stay an extra day, now leaving on Friday. We also received an email from host Sophie in Mungo, to advise they have decided to sell the property and will not need help looking after the accommodation side of the farm stay. This will enable us to go home for my dads big birthday celebration, but will cut short our eastern states stay.
