Today was dubbed the 4P day Pumpkins, Pickles, Paneer and Painting. I have made and froze pumpkin soup, and pieces for pie, made cucumber pickles and learnt how to make paneer, which we had for tea tonight with a spicy sauce - delicious, another recipe, but perhaps not for the road.

The chicks have continued to hatch and there are now 11 although 1 is not viable, born with a defective leg and cannot stand. It was Andrews job to do the humane thing.
My other main job for the day was to finish cutting the remaining fabric and make into eco wraps. This time I was asked to time the process to help Anna work out pricing. The first ones had been hemmed which makes for a neat finish but does affect the foldability. The second batch were overlocked but not hemmed - to stop fraying and I did do a trial without overlocking. My view is that cutting the fabric with pinking shears and then waxing would produce acceptable results, this would also cut down the make time per wrap. Current make time from cutting to dry and finished wrap is 10 minutes per wrap, 2-4 minutes would be saved without sewing.
Tomorrow is our last day at Honeycomb Valley Farm and pack up day. We will be sad to leave. When we were discussing this over dinner Josie said we could always stay longer, bless her cotton socks!
