We continued with painting today, Simon priming the window
sills and painting the high spots I couldn’t reach, I painted the walls. All
went well the second coat went on and before the 20 minutes “touch dry” period passed
the weather turned from brilliant sunshine to pouring rain, washing paint off
the back wall. Looks like it will get another coat tomorrow. There was activity
all around with a couple of visitors and final preparations for the garage
sale.
Chris made an excellent pizza for lunch, I made chow mien
for tea.
Simon and I are both researching various aspects of long
distance hiking, I am focusing on the meal prep and overall pack contents and
weight.
We have had a bit of trouble with the relay which charges
the rear battery (that runs the fridge) so Simon bit the bullet and purchased
some replacement gizmo from Jaycar, which came in today. I held the umbrella
while he installed it to the car. All working. However then the starter motor died (it has been a little bit slow the last month or so). The
NRMA attended and gave Simon a push start and recommended a local auto electrician. The roadside NRMA starter motor replacement service on offer does not apply in this area or to our model pajero,
just our luck! At least we should be able to roll the start the car on Monday and drive to the garage.
Cheers
Susan
