Day 268 Mansfield Saturday 2nd March 2013

Hi Folks

We woke ready to tell each other of our bizarre dreams overnight, then we said in unison "blue cheese", remembering that we ate blue cheese with our wine last evening. I don't know how many other people have blue cheese dreams, we have heard of some, and certainly we are always affected.

Simon had suggested that when we got to Mansfield that we would walk into the township each day as the first stage of our training for the Heysen Trail, I was raring to go, he was not ready so I set off alone. I was making good time and got about 2.3kms down the road when I heard Grumbly behind me (Grumbly is the name of our Pajero not Simon). Seems we were not walking today except around town and around the resort.

We checked out the camping shops, I came across another brand of backpack, Vaude who do make a lightweight model. I have decided I do not want a pack that is any heavier than 1.7kgs. But of course I am not to know in advance if such lightweight models will be durable enough for the rugged conditions. Guess we will make some poor decisions in this process and learn along the way.

I cooked up some scones and Anzac biscuits on return to the resort, ovens are so useful, something I do miss on the road. Then we had a morning tea treat which served as lunch also. Later we walked down to the boat ramp, then played a game of mini golf, Simon won! The resort's pool complex has had a makeover since we were last here so we sat on the deck chairs and soaked up a few rays before wandering home.
Putter extraordinaire

I made dinner and goofed off in from of the TV watching Grand Designs a favourite while Simon wandered down to the lake to have a fish. We have never seen water in the lake before, so it is somewhat of a novelty. No fish for breakfast however.

Night All
