Hi Folks,
An early blog tonight. I am tired, worn out from playing scrabble last night. Well it was after midnight when we hit the hay. This morning was spent doing some planning of when and where we travel to next plus making some arrangements/bookings.
Next Monday we go out to the reef for snorkelling.
We will leave Gordonvale on Thursday for a surprise visit to an old neighbour of mine (hopefully)at her beauty business in Babinda and visit Paranella park for an overnight stay. We have enquired about a Helpexchange at St Lawrence which involves 4 hours of checking mud crab pots each day just waiting to hear some feedback.
After lunch, which we didn't have we popped to the airport so Susan could secure her e-ticket for her flight to Sydney on Sunday. We then returned to Cairns and Susan purchased a new digital camera. On the way home I called into the rolling mill and picked up the flashing for the pump box.
Back home I toodled into Gordonvale and took some pictures to add to this blog, while Susan slaved over the stove preparing delicious pumpkin soup and salads to have with the steak for tea. Dessert was bread and butter pudding with cream and ice cream, which was also excellent.
We are storing our trailer in next doors back yard so we invited the neighbour Dave for tea to say thanks.
Tomorrow back onto the chores after a relatively quiet day today.
Gordonvale lives in the shadow of a sugar mill that looks as if it has escaped from the industrial revolution. It is also in the shadow of a very impressive mountain called the pyramid. Finally some pictures of cane toad park commemorating the release of cane toads in Queensland at Gordonvale in 1936.
Cheers Simon
