Day 210 Nabiac Thursday 3rd January 2012

Hi Folks,

An overcast day today which was good since I was out in the back with the mower. Unfortunately I didn't finish since one of the drive belts let go after 2 and a half hours with a large amount of burning rubber. Luckily I was able to drive the mower back to the house saving a longish walk and a recovery mission and the bulk of the mowing is done in the most overgrown section. The mower shop doesn't open until next Monday so the mowing is on hold for now.

Susan meanwhile was weeding the veggie garden which is now finished and painting (sign writing) the sign for the produce sold here.

This afternoon I followed some guests down to the dam to join in angling for silver perch after digging worms in the veggie patch. None were caught. However i shall persevere closer to dusk next time. Might also chuck out the yabby traps too. Not quite the ambiance of sitting on the riverbank at Woodford with the stream flowing past. The dam level is falling and the mud is deep at waters edge necessitating standing which is not overly relaxing and being careful where one walks. On the plus side there are no snags to grab your tackle apart from the water lillies.

That is all the relevant news since it is rather late and I am too tired to write more. I have been watching the movie version (2.5 hours) of the "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" It plays a bit loose with the book although sticks to the basic storyline.

well past bedtime.

night folks

Simon
