Day 216 Nabiac Wednesday 9th January 2012

Hi folks,

Fateful words last night about perfect weather for sleeping.  A cloudy change rolled through and up went the temperature and humidity making for much tossing and turning. Andrew said it was 31 this morning at 7! The clouds disappeared then the wind blew from the south cooling things off and towards dusk it clouded over with very light drizzle. I think I can safely say we will have a pleasant nights sleep tonight.

On the helpx front. I popped the creep crawly in the pool. I replaced some sprayers on the discharge from the effluent treatment for the units. I also moved the lines which are irrigation pipe. The effluent is chlorine treated but even so I had a shower afterwards to clean up any germs. It was then onto the painting managing to finish an end wall after pruning back some pine tree branches. This afternoon I was once again fiddling with the irrigation controller as the batteries had gone flat and also a fitting in the system had broken causing a geyser. It was then on to the wireless LAN extension problem with some more data gathering. Google was my friend. I was able to calculate that it was a function of extension cable causing the low signal strength. Which points the way forward to complete the mission. I then repaired a power supply (one of mine)that broke when I dropped it. I also disassembled the Optus dongle I bought 2nd hand as the flimsy aerial socket had broken. I have hard soldered the plug to it and araldited it on. However I am not sure the signal strength is as good as it should be although I am typing this on it.

Meanwhile Susan, went shopping in Nabiac, helped with the room change over, watered plants, collected pine needles, did washing, cooked dinner (with Josie aged 8), mended some clothes, decobwebbed and painted my calf while I was descending the ladder. This was apparently in retaliation for pine cones falling on her head.

We are off tomorrow and I am determined to get away early! Therefore it is now 1046 and bedtime!!

night folks

Simon
