Another hot day in the country. Well low 30's anyway. Tomorrow we are promised high 30's.
This critter came from the garden on Susan's spinach this morning |
It's a Green Reed frog as far as I can tell |
I used the relative coolness of the morning to finish sorting the fasteners in the shipping container. It was then onto making up some wooden blockers to hang off gates to stop the animals crawling underneath. The wood is old split posts, quite heavy. I decided to plane the big one down with the chain saw which worked pretty well. It was a simple job to install them. I will try and do one gate per day amongst my other tasks.
Lumps of wood hanging from the gate. Note chainsaw plane marks on r/h piece |
Susan meanwhile, shopped in town and did housework, laundry and cooked a delicious chow mien dinner which every one enjoyed. Friends of our hosts arrived today to stay and were impressed with the meal. It was definitely the best one yet. It's pretty full on here and there is always a lot of hustle and bustle of the enjoyable variety.
Tomorrow Susan is being despatched to Taree on a shopping expedition. The transmission oil is here for the mower however I am not sure about the belt. I think I may be revisiting the aerial cable on the LAN as well. Although I think I may have reached the limit of my competence in that area. We will see.
That is all,
cheers Simon
