Hello honorable readers,
Another fine sunny day in the apple isle. We continued our painting today from 9 until we emptied the 15l pail at about 230. We are about 70% done.
Tomorrow we are booked on the Tasman Island cruise free and gratis. Looks like a good trip with lots to see. I am sure in the spirit of community HelpX we will at some stage be scraping the barnacles off the bottom of the boat. Hopefully the trip will be smooth and the other half of the team will be able to retain their stomach contents.
On the oyster front i am advised the local oysters are feral Pacific ones, they taste oily and we need to go up the road to Taranna to get the good ones. They actually have an oyster smashing event here before the regatta every year to stop people getting scraped by them,
Tomorrow night is our turn to cook the communal tea. We have been scratching around the kitchen fridges and freezers trying to decide on the menu. There are blackberry bushes around the town with nice ripe berries on them and i was toying with using them in a dessert. Yesterday while exploring the property i noted a thicket of bushes which we investigated tonight. Too shady and all green berries so we will have to get them from the local streets if we want them for a pie or similar.
Heres to smooth waters tomorrow.
bye for now
cheers Simon
