Day 9 Nubeena Thursday 3rd February 2011
Tiger snake
Snake in the tennis court
Local peasant labor on The Great Wall
Dear sirs and madames,
The day started with our usual walk, this time up the very steep George Street before starting our days work. A resplendant sunny day in Nubeena today. Mid 20's light breeze and great for painting. We are painting the back wall of the motel which is about the same length as the Great Wall of China. We started off with me rollering and Susan cutting in. However we swapped on account of Susans knees hurting going up and down the ladder.
There was some excitement in the middle of the day when the large snake (pictured) slithered across the car park. I have nominated it as a tiger snake. Apparently there are only 3 snakes found in Tasmania and from the descriptions I think it is a tiger snake.
We completed about 30% of the wall today putting on around half the 15 litres in the tin. I found a chisel today so tomorrow I will be exploring the oysters on the rocks on the other side of the inlet.
Keep smiling
Simon
