Day 19 Nubeena Sunday 14th February 2011
All ready for the lid to go on
Fresh from the oven
Dusk at Nubeena tonight
Bonjour mes amis,
The weather pattern here is, if it rains in the afternoon/evening the next day is guaranteed to start with brilliant sunshine as was the case today.
Today's work was for me ensuring the carpet tiles were finished in the house across the road which they were and then onto repairs, fixing a light to a wall and patching and repainting a couple of damaged wall areas, moving chairs and tables from storage to a room in time for today's guests. Followed by the repair of a couple of vacuum cleaner brush heads, spraying of weeds, shovelling gravel, finishing off gluing my old hiking boots and buying flour to make cake pastry. Susan undertook house keeping, painting the office and made the blackberry pie.
The blackberry pie was the best yet with perfect pastry and a nice tartness to the filling. It was enjoyed by all at tea time with only one tiny piece left for tomorrow.
We have planned a bush walk for our day off on Wednesday to Cape Raoul and Shipsterns Bluff. This is actually 2 walks so we might only get one done.
The air was decidedly cool tonight but the weather forecast is good for the couple of dsys so hopefully it will hold up for our walk. Such a contrast to the Far North Queensland weather, I have worn socks every day for a week (No not the same pair either) whereas in Queensland I didn't wear them for nearly 3 months. I must admit I was expecting Tassie to be a little bit warmer than the current 24C maximum daily temperatures. Better 24 than 42 :-).
Catch you tomorrow
Cheers Simon
