Greetings,
From windswept Nubeena. The grey clouds enveloped us again today with some strong winds and rain in the evening. A man could get SAD (seasonal affective disorder) if he didn't have beer and wine! Mind you the temperature did make it into the low 20's today.
My task today was pulling up carpet in the house across the road owned by the resort after the tenants had moved out. The carpet was foam backed and had been glued to the floorboards so a long task to scrap it up for Giacomo and myself. Giacomo being young and fit did most of the work while I supervised. It's mostly done and tomorrow we will lay the carpet tiles and tidy up a bit more.
Susan painted half the motel office today and tidied the potting area behind the pool/spa/sauna building. She also cooked lunch and tea and laundered the resort towels which took well in excess of the 5 hours per day required. Tomorrow she is on reception!
The unit we are staying in does not appear to have a cleaning schedule. Our co tenants took off for a night in Hobart so i tidied our bedroom and vacuumed and Susan washed the kitchen floor. The water was just about black.
I got lumbered with changing a fluoro in a guests bathroom just before tea. Should have been an easy job apart from the fact it was fitted with the diffuser from hell that didn't want to come off and that the "spares" in the box in the storage container were all duds. Eventually a working one was installed. You have to love those 2 minute jobs that extend for 30!
We found prawns in the freezer tonight so garlic prawns and rice for tea plus wine. Susan is rediscovering her backgammon skills and played Julie several times after tea. The motel is full over the weekend so it looks like a busy couple of days with not enough blocks of free time to do anything meaningfully touristy.
Till tomorrow,
Simon
