Day 59 Brooloo Sunday 5th August 2012

Hi Folks,
The weather is getting warmer. Last night we only managed 0.0 as a minimum. Seriously this is the longest coldest period we have spent on the road. We did manage 34 inside the tent today. Pack up day tomorrow and I reckon the canvas will be nicely dry by 10 so no excuses for not getting away efficiently. Susan wants to go to the library at Kenilworth to borrow some audio books for me to copy so our route northwards will be indirect but since we only have to travel 150km this should be of no consequence.

The cook in uniform off to get hot water

These gloves lasted 2 weeks

Morning tea on the new paving

Getting to know the suckers. Apparently the really big cows can and do poop over the top rail.

happy happy joy joy

Last try at manual milking

Watching the expert at work.

Today we shifted the dining table to the new deck area and pulled the plastic out from the outdoor kitchen to enable a bit of excavation and the opportunity for me to shovel as many loads of road base as I wanted to fill in the gap at one end. Susan as well as cooking cleaned the cab on the truck which gets traded tomorrow and visited a local dairy with Peter to observe the milking. They milked 300 odd cows this afternoon, 24 per side with about 7 minutes to milk each one plus about the same set up time. She also tried her hand at milking here again. She won't be giving up her day job methinks as she only had enough milk to put in a cup of tea.

That's about it for our last full day at Brooloo. It is too cold to sit here and type so I will fill the space with pictures.

Night folks

Simon
