Hi Folks,
The happy wanderers have returned to Inskip for at least three nights.
We were fairly slow packing up this morning mainly waiting to dry the heavy dew inside and outside the tent. We said our goodbyes and departed after midday to travel the 100km or so to here. We enjoyed our time at Alan and Karen's but having people crook did put a dampener on things. The upside is that the water heater is running well and we have lots more light. Susan is recovering and put in a big effort today with the packing up and doing the laundry at Rainbow Beach. It has caught up with her and she has been sleeping since about 815 this evening.
Leaving in a leisurely fashion has its pain at the other end of the day and we ended up doing the last bit of the set up in the dark (6pm). We bit the bullet, well Susan did and put the awning up mainly to enclose the kitchen. There are still lots of people in the area camping. I was reading the neighbourhood watch article in the local free paper. Chairs, eskies and fishing rods tend to disappear if left unattended so we will need to pay attention to that. The solar panels are out and chained up for the first time this trip. Susan bought the barge ticket for Fraser Island today although as she was doing it they had just closed the service due to the swell pushed by the onshore wind. We have 12 months to use the ticket which is reassuring. It is $100 return for the vehicle which for a 10 minute ride is a bit rich.
Anyway that's about it we had fish and chips for tea as it was next to the laundry. There is a big self serve water station on the road so our tanks are full. Just need some calm days and more sunshine. No pictures today but hopefully we can remedy that in the near future.
night folks
Simon
