Swag bag!
Hi Folks,
This blog was originally written note form in the recumbent position in the swag by headlamp light.
We finally left Parsons Bay several hours after the departure photos. Susan had many tasks to finish to tidy up loose ends. We called into Lucky Ducks for a farewell coffee and to say goodbye to Grant and Kelly. We are unsure if we will return to PBR. We have met many people their and would like to see them again so i think we will definitely return at some stage.
Speaking of coffee I rang Breville and have to take our machine into the service centre at Devonport.
We cruised the familiar road to Hobart stopping at Sorell to purchase some foodstuffs. It was then northwards along the Midland highway to Kempton. A historic town just off the main road that was a stage coach stop. The camping ground was a "self contained vehicles" only. We availed ourselves of the BBQ area preferring to use our stove rather than the carbon encrusted free one. We munched down our travellers tea of sausages, bacon, onions mushrooms and bread. Clouds were threatening and we were considering swagging in the BBQ area under the roof. However we pushed on to Bothwell (1822) and a free camp just out of town. This was basic but ok. The highly rusty campers swung into action and were soon in the swag under the awning. The weather threatened but came to nothing more than a light shower. If we were on the road for a few more days we would need to rearrange some of our gear. However the swag in the bag on the trailer worked well. The old roof bag might have a longer useful life after all.
Tomorrow onto Nowhere Else.
