Day 295 Nowhere Else Friday 18th November 2011

Eric our host " We have a surplus of cucumbers at the moment"

Hi All,
Whilst Adelaideans were basking in 35 degrees we had 35 here. Millimetres of rain that is! I have just checked the BOM site and it was only 18mm. However it did rain most of the day. The day did start off dry. I managed to rake out the pile of ashes from the fire to enable the charcoal to burn. Then as the rain started I raked them up and covered them with old roof sheets so they could combust on another day.
The rest of the day was spent inside. I helped Susan ironing the curtains. She also finished her varnishing. We took a spin into Sheffield so I could restock my hay fever drugs and for some plastic garden bags to contain items in the roof bag just in case it leaks again. On the way back we called into a B&B that advertises dinner meals. We are booked for tomorrow night. The chef is a French lady "Ginette" and the young woman serving was also a Helpexer. We did get to meet some more locals who were working in the greenhouse. We also took the opportunity to tidy our "stuff" up a bit as the bedroom was looking fairly messy.
That's the story of a wet day.

Night folks

Simon
