Day 278 Nowhere Else Tuesday 1st November 2011
Great Lake View
Sheffield outfitters shop
Evening folks,
The eagle has landed or in our case the fossils. We are in Nowhere Else and this is being typed from our new bedroom.
This place looks terrific. Our hosts Eric and Kaye are really friendly. First surprise is that they had some helpexers here a couple of weeks ago in Max (Morphine) and Fanfan. Morphine has since walked the Overland Track so I am a bit jealous but it is a great achievement. The work here is going to be interesting and we will hopefully learn a bit about capsicum growing. There are 9500 plants here in a greenhouse growing hydroponically. The system is automated and quite sophisticated.
Our day started under grey skies at Bothwell. We packed up and had breakfast before heading into town for a coffee or two. After completing work on our computers we headed up on to the central highlands proper through Miena and down off the highlands to Deloraine, Sheffield and Nowhere Else. One section of dirt road was quite sloppy on top and the car and trailer were generously coated with mud. There is never a torrential rain storm when you need one. Will be a good cleaning job for yours truly.
Anyway that's it for tonight i need to get to bed before it gets too late.
Night folks
Simon
