Day 279 Nowhere Else Wednesday 2nd November 2011

Mount Roland. Quarry in the foreground

Hi Folks,
Our first "working day" here. We are focussed on outside work. Susan working on garden beds, digging and weeding. I was on the ride on mower. A nice Rover, a modern version of the the one at the Resort. I managed to cut the whole area with out doing any damage to the mower or the grounds. This afternoon I started construction of a couple of compost bays made from pallets.
The highlight of the morning was Susan discovering a dismembered rabbit that the cat had dragged in. Eric removed it and I interred it this afternoon.
The wind was howling from the southwest today and this brought on a major hay fever attack of my eyes. I have some drugs to take and ointment for my eyes.
Tonight's picture is of Mount Rolland which dominates the skyline. Although from here it is spoiled by a denuded hill in a functioning quarry. Trucks roll past most of the day. What they are quarrying I am unsure. However in SA I am sure they wouldn't have been allowed to operate such an eyesore.
I drove into Sheffield this afternoon. A small but pretty town with a good range of shops.
Hopefully my hay fever will abate tomorrow.
Night folks
cheers Simon
