Day 291 Nowhere Else Monday 14th November 2011
Caution woman at work
Hi all,
I tripped into Devonport this morning to get a new prepaid sim card and modem so we are not racking up a fortune for Telstra on our plan. I also got a quote on a car service. On my return i did some fiddling with my new non working router and new modem and went through the troubleshooting steps from the router manufacturer. I am not filled with confidence.
Susan in the mean time was working away on filling holes in the garden and digging some more garden bed surrounds. I heard her shouting Simon, Simon and rushed outside to see a geyser of water from where she had punctured an irrigation pipe. Eric repaired the pipe after we spent some time stomping in the long grass finding the shut off valve.
I finally started work at about 3 and did some more stepping stones. I should get this finished tomorrow. It poured with rain last night so we lifted the cover on the camper to check the seam sealing job. Dry! Occasionally i win one.
This evening I did some comparisons on the signal strength of our old and new wireless routers. The old one might be slightly better. I am now thinking it will be better if the new one is a dud and I can get a refund.
Another late night to bed. Just so much to do when you are not working!
Night folks
Simon
PS An other amusing incident of the day was Susan on the phone to the jewellers with the woman on the other end unable to find the items left for repair. After about 10 minutes searching it turned out Susan had rung the wrong shop. 2 shops in the same street Matthews and Mitchells!
